Bonaire

Bonaire

Because of the enormous amount of dive sites on the island, Bonaire is also called Divers Paradise, the best place in the world for shore diving. The dive sites are well marked with yellow stones.

All the water around Bonaire and Klein Bonaire was declared a Bonaire National Marine Park in 1979. This ensures good protection of our waters and because of this there are plenty of beautiful coral reefs to be found off the coast of Bonaire.

STINAPA

Diving is only allowed on Bonaire if you are in possession of a STINAPA tag. This year it costs $40 and is valid for one calendar year. You can request the tag directly from STINAPA via this link. If you do not yet have this tag at the start of your course or guided dive, I will be happy to help you with the application.

Lionfish

The lionfish is a very photogenic fish, but unfortunately poses a major threat to the underwater life of Bonaire.

This animal may therefore be hunted by using a special spear. However, this is linked to rules, which you will learn everything about during the Lionfish Hunter specialty. To be allowed to hunt you must be at least 15 years old and not be afraid of dirty hands. After catching, you will also learn how to rid this animal of its poisonous spines and how to make a delicacy for the barbecue. Will you help keep our reefs healthy? Then book the Lionfish Hunter specialty now!
