Courses and Specialties

Whether you are entering the water for the first time, or have already done many dives and want to develop further,

there is something for everyone at Reef Divers Bonaire. You can choose from SDI & PADI courses and specialties.
See below what suits you.

Scuba Discovery

For anyone who wants to experience scuba diving for the first time to investigate whether diving might be something for him/her.

Open Water Scuba Diver

During this course you will learn the basic skills in 3-4 days and make 4 dives to a maximum of 18 meters/60 feet. Become a certified  Open Water Scuba Diver.


Advanced Adventure Diver

Do you want to improve your diving skills? During this 2-day course you will learn how to trim, navigate and dive deeper than 18 meters/60 feet (up to a maximum of 30 meters/100 feet). In addition, you can choose from 3 specialty dives. Your instructor will advise you on this.
Become a certified Advanced Adventure Diver.

Inactive Diver/Refresher

Has it been a relatively long time since you last dived?
Then refresh your memory and skills with this 3-4 hour course. Your instructor will walk you through all the basic skills both above and underwater so that you can dive safely again.

Emergency First Response

Would you like to learn how to provide first aid in the event of a (diving) accident? And learn CPR? Then this course is for you!

This course is a prerequisite for SDI Rescue Diver & SDI Divemaster Training.


Rescue Diver

During this course you will learn in 2 days how to recognize and solve small problems before they become too big. You will also improve your navigation skills. Do you want to know what to do in an emergency? Then book this course.

Divemaster

Do you want to become a diving professional and confidently take charge? Then the Divemaster training is for you! In this course (about 90 hours in total) you will learn everything you need to know to properly guide other divers.

Brain coral

Navigator

In addition to navigating even better with a compass, you will also learn to navigate using natural landmarks and estimate distance.

Deep

Learn to dive responsibly up to 40 meters/130 feet.

In addition, you learn to determine your own limit, recognize nitrogen narcosis and you learn to better manage your air supply.

Night/limited visibility

During this specialty you will learn how to navigate in the dark, how to communicate using your dive light and what the underwater world looks like in the dark.

Nitrox

In this specialty you will learn to dive responsibly with Nitrox.

The benefits: Because the enriched air contains less nitrogen, you can enjoy longer dives and need shorter surface intervals.

Wreck

Have you always wanted to explore a wreck underwater? Learn how to do this safely. During this specialty, you will learn to dive with lines and reels and you will learn special fin techniques.

Photography

Would you like to make digital photos of your under water adventure? During this specialty you'll learn how to do that!

Search & Recovery

During this course you will learn how to find lost items using search patterns. You will also learn how to use a lift bag to raise heavy objects from the sea bottom.

Lionfish Hunter

This specialty is a real must for people who want to learn how to catch and clean a Lionfish for the barbecue. Be part of the solution, help eliminate this invasive species from our reefs.

DPV

During this specialty you'll learn how to dive while using a DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle). You don't need to swim, just let the DPV do the work for you!

Drift

Learn how to handle currents during drift dives.

Naturalist

Do you want to learn more about the symbiotic relations on the reef? During this course you'll learn about this and see it with your own eyes. 

Solo

Do you want to become a solo diver? This course is for you!

Discover Scuba Diving

Prerequisites:

You are a certified Rescue Diver, you have 40 logged dives, CPR and First Aid certification within 24 months & medical clearance to dive.
